Free Dental Treatment
It was check up time this week, I got away with just the check up and my Husband just a polish. The cost was £16.20 for the check up and and £44.60 for the check up and scale and polish. So, we requested receipts for both treatments and are sending them off along with our claim form to Healthsure and should be refunded the full £60.80! Great!
Free Sky Box
After our return from our Caravan Holiday, we turned on the TV to find that Sky sounded very dodgy, in fact after about 15 mins we heard a huge "POP", and Sky went off! Ooops!
Now we haven't ever paid for the additional cover as it is around £10.50 per month which seems a little excessive really especially as in 5 or 6 years we have never had a problem, so we rang up Sky to see what options we have.
We were told that we could start a policy there and then for £10.50 per month and someone would come to see us (I can only assume that this had a tie in period as I didn't ask ), we could pay for an engineer to come out to repair it which would be £65.00 or we could buy an second hand Sky box from Ebay, a carboot sale or somewhere or get ours repaired independently.
I spoke to my husband regarding these options and he said that we did have another Sky box, and that we had got it a few years ago after a friend moved house and no longer wanted it. I told the Sky adviser and he basically said plug it in and he would reconfigure it to our card, this took about 15 mins and we had working Sky again!
Who would have thought that taking an old Sky Box years ago would save us quite a bit of money in the future! So, keep a look out for any boxes people are giving away (we will be) and I suppose you could look on car boots and such like but you would not really have any guarantee that they will work?
We are going to look to sell our broken one, and obviously advertise it as broken as we have heard that people buy them for parts. I will let you know how we get on with that at a later date.
Money for Old Mobile Phones
After noticing some adverts on TV which state that they will give you money for selling your old mobile phones, I decided to look into it a bit more. And so far I am glad that I have, the best price I have been offered is £30 for 2 old mobile phones which haven't been used in years.
This might not seem a lot of money, but if someone offered you £30 for some old unused items you had knocking about the place you would be pleased right.
So, anyway I have stated that I want to sell and have been advised that a bag will be sent to me to put the phones in and send to them free of charge. So, watch this space and I will you keep you posted as to how I get on.
Mobile Phone Cashback Cont...
I am sending the first eligible bill recorded delivery tomorrow for our first Cashback claim. We have until the 19th of June to send it but the sooner the better if you ask me.
Watch this space as to if the request is successful and also as to how much we get, as I cannot really remember?
£40 4 Day Break
Tesco Clubcard vouchers strike again! I booked a short 4 night caravan break back in January for the first May Bank Holiday, Mon to Fri and had checked out holiday prices in advance before sending off my clubcard vouchers to be exchanged for Park Resort vouchers. When I received them back I went ahead and booked our break, this in total cost us £40 (which was due to the dogs being charged for).
So, off we went on our short break on a shoe string, had a lovely 4 night break and came back refreshed and actually a little freckly as the sun was out, even if it was windy and so still seemed a little chilly.
We are definitely going to do this again, and being as we have only used a fraction of our vouchers so far, we could really get organised and book for next year well in advance. We will see, watch this space.
